I have worked several different jobs in the aviation industry, ranging from an office intern, aircraft refueling, and air cargo operations. During my time as a flightline jockey, I've seen and met a few interesting characters that few others can profess.
Let me say firstly, that some of the celebs I've seen/met weren't true to their personas on screen/stage. Some were nicer, some less savory than they behave in front of a camera.
To date, I have either met, seen, or rendered services to:
Former President George W Bush (No joke. After his Presidency, obviously. He flew in to our FBO on a Falcon 50... The entire ramp was shut down and guarded by Secret Service and local P.D. I saw him for all of two seconds before being whisked away in his limo.)
Former Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney and Anne Romney (Nice people, but were clearly aware that all eyes were on them, and acted appropriately candidate-like)
Fox News host Bill O'Reilly and contributor Dennis Miller (Miller was awesome and gregarious, but Bill couldn't care less of us lowly peasants)
Comedian and actor Ron White (holding true to his persona as he stumbled back on the IAI Westwind he flew in on)
Comedian and actor Dave Chapelle (really awesome and friendly guy. He tips well too, incidentally)
Most of the current members of Fleetwood Mac (the other members on tour with them decided to make other travel arrangements. Apparently, some of them don't get along, according to their manager I was speaking with)
And lastly, musical group Zac Brown Band. (They were quick to board their tour bus, and I didn't have a chance to chat)
So that's it for me. Does anybody else have a celeb story while working aviation?
